This light is an example of a perfect brass patina! The perforated brass nipple is just wonderful, surrounded by petals. The color of the creamy glass lens is stunning. True to the reputation of the renowned designer Lisa Johnasson-Pape, the light emanates a soft, even glow. The leafy detail at the fitting's top, subtly peeking above the glass shade, adds a charming touch. Crafted with brass and glass, this piece was made by Orno in 1951. Item 1060.

Lisa-Johansson-Pape (b. 1907 d. 1989): One of Finland's most innovative lighting designers, using war-time rations she mixed materials and created shapes that brought her designs worldwide fame. "A lamp is not the actual purpose, but more like an instrument. It must fulfill its purpose as a provider of light, but at the same time, it must also satisfy the aesthetic demands. A good light fixture must be simple, and its structure and function must be both neat and correct."
