One of the most distinctive pendants ever created by Paavo Tynell, produced by Idman in 1955. Tynell, known for drawing inspiration from nature, captured this essence in this design, with the lamp’s metal frame delicately bent into the shape of eight leaves. These leaves are covered in nylon fabric, and the light diffused by an opal glass shade. Post-war material shortages made sourcing supplies difficult, but Idman managed to obtain parachute fabric for use in lighting production. This leads me to believe the nylon used here may be a leftover from their collaboration with Mr. Holman, the owner of the Idman shade factory at Meritulli Square who was known to "have contacts."  Nothing like piece oh history to go with a beautiful vintage lamp.
